
Arnold King has toiled extensively in theatre for the past 10 years, working as a lighting technician, lighting designer, scenic painter, stage hand and stage manager.
Throughout Denver, Arnold has worked with the Subversive Intelligence Theatre Company; Hunger Artists Ensemble; Industrial Arts Theatre Company; Theatre Du Quirque; Paper Cat Theatre Company; Chasm View Productions; Evergreen Players; The Avenue Theatre; Uncorked Productions and Firehouse Theatre Company.
Arnold is serving as production stage manager for Shadow Theatre Company's 13th Season, which opened with August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and continues with Christmas of the Angels by Michael R Duran. He made his debut with Shadow last season, working on such productions as August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone (Denver Post Ovation Award Winner - Best Drama & Best Actor in a Drama: Cajardo Lindsey and Henry Award Winner- Outstanding Performance by an Actor & Outstanding Direction of a Play: Jeffrey Nickelson), Smokey Joe's Cafe, Neil Simon's Oscar and Felix and the Shadow Youth Ensemble's original Painiting Over the Past.
Arnold functions as a lighting designer for Ami Dayan's Maya Productions, designing the American Premieres of Conviction at Curious Theatre Company and Rubicon International Theatre Festival, as well as Pedro and the Captain at the Boulder Fringe Festival in Boulder, CO.
Arnold served as Assistant Technical Theatre Teacher and Technical Director within the Gateway High School Theatre Department in Aurora, Colorado. There he taught students the fundamentals of technical theatre for two years.
With Rhino Staging, Arnold served as a Stage Hand for several rock concerts, including those of Weezer; the Foo-Fighters; Floetry; Queen Latifah; Erica Badu and Paul McCartney.
At the Community College of Aurora (CCA), he served as Theatre Technician and Light Designer for two years, participating in 30 musical, dance and theatrical productions such as Othello; Cabaret; Rumors; How I Learned to Drive and True West. Within CCA, Arnold refined the theatre department's student stage manager program, initiated the student director program and co-founded the arts organization Center Stage Arts- where he staged two readings of his original script The Final Mile [to Providence].
Arnold King is a member of the Colorado Theatre Guild (CTG) and is an active participant of the CTG's New Venture Series, recently serving as judge. He spends his daytime hours working as a warehouse manager and set technician for Decor 'N More, Inc. and was a photographer and lighting technician for Main Events/Studio 84 Photography.
